Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Trung Tinh commended the establishment and practical contributions of the Australia - Viet Nam Strategic Technology Centre in fostering scientific and technological cooperation between the two nations.
According to the Deputy Minister, supported by the governments of Viet Nam and Australia, the Centre is serving as a bridge to promote research, application, and transfer of core technologies, particularly strategic ones. Building on initial outcomes in 5G, 6G, and AI research, collaborative activities are expanding into fields such as cybersecurity and quantum technology.

Amid rapid technological developments and their increasingly deep integration into daily life, Deputy Minister Tran Trung Tinh noted that strategic technology is becoming a vital driver determining national competitiveness and sustainable development.
Viet Nam identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as strategic breakthroughs. However, technological development must go beyond economic growth or infrastructure optimization; it must serve human needs, ensure real-world and online security and safety, and foster equitable and sustainable development.
A key highlight emphasized at the forum was the government-academia-industry collaboration model. Through the Australia - Viet Nam Strategic Technology Centre, universities, research organizations, and enterprises from both countries gain dedicated space to jointly conduct research, pilot solutions, develop products, and progressively translate scientific and technological findings into practical application.
