The two sides agreed to prioritize reviewing and moving toward re-signing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, as well as developing an action plan between the Viet Nam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and the NSSC, laying the foundation for stable and long-term collaboration.

Cooperation activities will focus on training regulatory personnel in safety assessment, licensing, inspection, and oversight of nuclear power plants, alongside sharing experience regarding APR1400 technology, small modular reactors (SMRs), and advanced reactor technologies.

The two authorities also pledged to enhance cooperation in finalizing legal frameworks, technical regulations, and safety management systems throughout the entire lifecycle of nuclear plants - spanning site selection, construction, operation, and decommissioning. This is a practical initiative as Viet Nam implements the Ninh Thuan nuclear power projects, with safety, security, and nuclear safeguards placed as top priorities.

In the immediate future, both agencies plan to organize a workshop on sharing experiences regarding radiation and nuclear safety in November 2026./.
