On 14 August 2026, Chinese Embassy in Guyana hosted the 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship Award Ceremony. the Chinese Embassy in Guyana held the 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship Award Ceremony. Ambassador Yang Yang and Hon. Zulfikar Ally, Minister of Public Service and Government Efficiency and Implementation attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. More than 60 people, including scholarship recipients and their relatives, as well as representatives of the Guyana-China Alumni Association, were also present. 

Ambassador Yang presented certificates to the recipients and congratulated them. She noted that talent is vital to national development and that human resources cooperation is an important pillar of China-Guyana practical cooperation. She encouraged the scholarship recipients to make the most of their studies in China, gain a comprehensive understanding of an open and progressive China, and carry forward the friendship between China and Guyana.

Hon. Minister Ally thanked the Chinese government for its longstanding support for talent development in Guyana. He highly commended China-Guyana cooperation in this area, noting that it has helped strengthen Guyana's human resource capacity and made a positive contribution to the country's economic and social development.

The scholarship recipients expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to study diligently, better understand China, and contribute to Guyana with what they learn.
