MN Bio-Fuels And Gopher Football Bring Back Popular 'Win $888 With Unleaded 88' Campaign For The 2026 Season

Burnsville, Aug 27 - A new football season brings fresh excitement on the gridiron and new possibilities for fans to win off the field.

For the third consecutive year, the Minnesota Bio-Fuels Association (MN Bio-Fuels), a proud sponsor of Gopher Athletics, is teaming up with the Gophers to offer football fans a chance to "Win $888 With Unleaded 88."

Under the sweepstakes promotion, one lucky fan will win an $888 Holiday Stationstores gift card following each Minnesota Golden Gophers victory during the regular season. The sweepstakes promotion begins Aug 28 and ends on Nov 28. Fans can sign up to enter the 2026 sweepstakes here.

"Much like the success of the Golden Gophers on the Huntington Bank Stadium field, access to Unleaded 88 in Minnesota has increased due to hard work and coordination with our industry teammates like Holiday Stationstores. As gasoline prices remain stubbornly high, consumers in Minnesota can find relief by choosing Unleaded 88 at the pump and cheering on the Golden Gophers to victory every Saturday with the Win $888 with Unleaded 88 sweepstakes," said Brian Werner, executive director at MN Bio-Fuels.

Unleaded 88, also known as E15, is currently available at over 550 stations across Minnesota. Approved for all cars 2001 and newer by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Unleaded 88 typically saves drivers 10 to 20 cents per gallon compared to regular 87 octane gasoline without reducing fuel economy.

According to data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Unleaded 88 was priced an average of 17 cents lower than regular 87 octane gasoline during the first five months of 2026. In fact, since 2013, Minnesotans have saved over $80 million at the pump with Unleaded 88.

Last year's "Win $888 With Unleaded 88" campaign drew strong engagement with 8,073 entries. With the Gophers securing seven victories during the regular season, a total of seven Holiday station gift cards valued at $6,216 were awarded.
