Deer-Hunting Educational Video Series Expanded with "Whitetail 201," Presented by LaCrosse
DENVER (July 17, 2026) - Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) is proud to announce the launch of its latest educational initiative, "Whitetail 201," Presented by LaCrosse, and in Partnership with Browning, Millennium, Spypoint, Bowtech & Excalibur, and OSG's North American Whitetail brand. The 10-episode video series marks an expansion of the current "Whitetail 101" educational series that was launched last summer to welcome and equip entry-level deer hunters and help remove any barriers to participation. "Whitetail 201" is designed to help all deer hunters increase their knowledge and improve their odds of success in the coming season.
The original 20-episode "Whitetail 101" video series, hosted by Blake Garlock, shared insights across three phases of deer hunting: Before the Hunt with licensing, securing equipment, scouting and preparation; During the Hunt, including techniques, safety and strategies for success in the woods; and After the Hunt, detailing game recovery, tagging, field-dressing and taxidermy.
"Put simply, our original mission with 'Whitetail 101' was to break down any barriers to entry for new or prospective deer hunters," said Michael Cassidy, Group Publisher at Outdoor Sportsman Group. "Now with 'Whitetail 201,' we're building onto that course and covering topics that give both newcomers and experienced deer hunters the opportunity to learn something new about the latest gear and best practices in the deer woods. The idea is to continue providing reliable, expert-driven information that will make the experience both more attainable and more fun."
Hosted by North American Whitetail (NAW) Managing Editor Colton Bagnoli and respected deer hunter and regular NAW Contributor Jace Bauserman, "Whitetail 201" provides insights and expertise that only come from years of hunting whitetail deer. Bagnoli and Bauserman offer a variety of tips and tricks to help hunters grow their confidence in the field.
Adding to the current video archive, Bagnoli and Bauserman cover a wide range of topics, including trail camera setup; reading whitetail deer sign; treestand location and setup; ground blind location and setup; tuning broadheads; rifle and ammo selection; when to use aggressive hunting tactics; how long to wait after a shot, depending on impact; human scent reduction and using deer attractants; shot placement and angles; and much more.
"Whitetail 101" offers a trusted, accessible resource to guide beginners through every stage of their hunting journey, and now "Whitetail 201" gives them the opportunity to level up.
"Deer hunting is a pinnacle outdoor experience," said Group Publisher Michael Cassidy, "but getting started can be overwhelming. Because of that, Outdoor Sportsman Group will continue adding to our deer-hunting video library to ensure that it's the go-to resource for new hunters."
With presenting partner LaCrosse, and participating sponsors Browning, Millennium, Spypoint, Bowtech & Excalibur, "Whitetail 201" ensures the series is backed by the highest levels of expertise and innovation in the industry, and Outdoor Sportsman Group will leverage digital and off-channel marketing strategies to connect with as many aspiring deer hunters as possible.
