Governor Mike Braun Highlights Child Care Affordability Solutions in Visit to St. Mary's Early Childhood Center
INDIANAPOLIS - Governor Mike Braun today toured St. Mary's Early Childhood Center, a not-for-profit organization focused on early childhood education and professional development, and highlighted his administration's efforts to make child care more affordable and accessible for Hoosier families.
"I'm taking action to make child care more affordable and accessible, like our historic $200 million investment to expand CCDF vouchers and expanding child care tax credits to encourage more businesses to provide affordable child care options for their employees. I'm grateful for child care providers like St. Mary's Early Childhood Center who are doing essential work to support Hoosier families every day." - Governor Mike Braun
During the visit, Governor Braun met with staff and observed the center's preschool programming, which serves young children while supporting working parents. St. Mary's Early Childhood Center also provides professional development to strengthen the state's child care workforce and improve outcomes for children across Indiana.
Governor Braun recently announced a $200 million investment to expand affordable child care in Indiana, reopening enrollment for Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers through the Financial Responsibility and Opportunity Growth (FROG) Fund.
Governor Braun also recently signed legislation to expand employer-supported child care options and help more Hoosier families access affordable, reliable child care.
At St. Mary's, Governor Braun emphasized that expanding access to reliable child care is critical to helping parents stay in the workforce and to build stronger futures and stronger families.
