BART's Office of Civil Rights is hosting a free, in-person Small Business Summit on Thursday, May 21, from 8:30am to noon, on the first floor of BART HQ (2150 Webster St., Oakland, near 19th St. Oakland Station). The event will be held during BART's Small Business Week, beginning May 19, and will include a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business certification workshop in light of the significant changes to certification requirements under the recent Interim Final Rule (IFR).

In light of recent changes to the federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise IFR. While that process plays out, BART remains committed to actively supporting and connecting small businesses with opportunities. This event is a reflection of that commitment.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet BART buyers, prime contractors, discover small purchase opportunities, connect with other small businesses, and access valuable resources. You'll also hear directly from small business owners who have successfully been awarded BART contracts!

Participating BART departments include the Office of Civil Rights, Infrastructure Delivery, Procurement, Planning and Development, BART Police Department, and System Safety.
