Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, is participating in the Warsaw Security Forum over September 29th-30th.
On September 29th, the Romanian official delivered a speech during the panel "Peace through strength: What is Europe's Hard Power?" alongside his Polish counterpart, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Norwegian Minister of Defence, Tore O. Sandvik, NATO Deputy Secretary General, Radmila Šekerinska, and AIRBUS Executive Vice President, Wouter van Wersch.
During the speech and debates, Ionuț Moșteanu reiterated the importance of consolidating the Eastern Flank in an overall manner, especially in the context of the Russian Federation's increased incursions with drones and aircraft into the Allied airspace. He also welcomed the recent initiative at NATO level - Operation Eastern Sentry, while also mentioning the need for the initiatives subsequently launched at the European Union level, such as Eastern Flank Watch, to be complementary and synchronized with the Allied ones.
Minister of National Defence also briefed on the status of the latest developments, at national level, regarding the review and adaptation of the legal framework on the course of action with regard to thedrones and military manned aircraft that violate national airspace.
