On September 29, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco held a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. More than 300 participants from various sectors attended the event, including Consul General Zhang Jianmin and his wife Zheng Xin, Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Vice President Shen Xin, members of Guizhou's "Aunties Basketball" team, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie and President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rafael Mandelman. Oregon Senate President Pro Tempore James Manning Jr., who is currently visiting China, sent a video message. California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis and others presented congratulatory letters.
Consul General Zhang reviewed China's remarkable achievements over the past 77 years, noting that China has contributed to global development, embraced openness and cooperation, become a forerunner in innovation, remained committed to green transition, and advocated for better global governance. He called on all sectors to work together to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and jointly build a constructive relationship of strategic stability based on respect, fairness and reciprocity.
Vice President Shen, Mayor Lurie, Senate President Pro Tempore Manning, President Mandelman and other guests spoke highly of great significance of the meetings between the two heads of state to the growth of China-US relations, and expressed their willingness to continue deepening subnational exchanges and cooperation and contribute to the sound, steady and sustainable growth of China-US relations.
