Atlantic City Electric and the Arbor Day Foundation Offer Free Trees to Enhance Energy Efficiency

Atlantic City Electric customers can request a free tree to plant at their home as part of the company's partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation's Energy-Saving Trees program. Residential customers can reserve a complimentary tree on a first-come, first-served basis and enjoy the energy-saving benefits that trees provide over time.

When planted correctly, trees provided through the program can reduce energy bills by 15 to 30 percent as they mature. Since the beginning of this partnership, distributed trees are expected to provide nearly $9.3 million in energy savings, reduce electricity use by more than 41.2 million kWh, which is enough to power more than 45,000 homes for a month, and provide more than $13.2 million in combined energy and community benefits.
