City of Rancho Mirage Confirms Authorization and Official Sponsorship for Cathedral City International Hot Air Balloon Festival

The City of Rancho Mirage has issued an official statement clarifying their sponsorship and permit authorization for the upcoming Cathedral City International Hot Air Balloon Festival, scheduled for November 21-23, 2025.

In the statement released today, the City of Rancho Mirage confirmed their role as an official sponsor of the festival, which will take place at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa property. The city emphasized that the Cathedral City International Hot Air Balloon Festival, produced by Soundskilz Inc., is the only hot air balloon festival with an active special event permit authorized to operate at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa during the November 21-23, 2025, weekend.

This clarification comes as the festival prepares for its 11th annual celebration, building on the momentum from today's earlier announcement that Agua Caliente Casinos will return as presenting sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. The festival has grown to become one of the premier balloon festivals in Southern California, attracting pilots and spectators from around the world.

The three-day event will feature multiple hot air balloon launches, tethered balloon rides, live entertainment, food vendors, and family-friendly activities across four locations: The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa, Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City, Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage, and Downtown Cathedral City.
