Relocation Support
The City of Fremont recognizes this closure may be challenging for those currently residing in Isherwood Park and remains dedicated to providing relocation support, while working in partnership with the City of Union City, the Alameda County Water District, and East Bay Regional Parks. City staff, alongside partnering nonprofit service providers, will spend the next two months focused on outreach efforts, including securing and offering shelter resources and assisting with transitions into programs. The City is committed to maintaining continuous communication with those residing in the park regarding the closure and all available relocation options. Relocation efforts are being conducted in accordance with the City's standard municipal code, Section 12.20 Parks and Recreation Areas, which states that it is prohibited to 1) remain in the park from a half hour after sunset to sunrise of the following day and 2) camp, lodge, or remain overnight.
The City will continue to provide updates on the Isherwood Park closure and relocation efforts as they are available.
