The City of Reno's Corporate Challenge is back for 2026! Registration is open now through August 3, 2026. The competition will take place September 9 through October 4, 2026. The Corporate Challenge brings the spirit of the Olympics to a local and more intimate playing field. Teams will compete in 12 different events throughout the four-week period.
New this year, participants can compete in four additional events which include cornhole, an escape room, a 5K run/walk, and trivia. Participants can also enjoy food trucks in attendance, along with music and family-friendly fun during the competition festivities.
Other games will range from bowling, basketball, softball, tug-of-war, and more. There will also be a Home Run Derby competition at Peccole Park located on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno.
"We're excited to bring back this event to our local businesses as it provides an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and build lasting camaraderie among peers," said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. "I invite businesses across our community to join the competition and enjoy the experience along the way."
A kick-off orientation will be held Aug. 12, 2026, at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center to review the rules and expectations for all team managers. The closing ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 4, 2026, at Dick Taylor Park.
Participation costs range from $1,000 for companies with up to 149 employees to $1,150 for companies with 150 to 499 employees and $1,300 for companies with 500 or more employees. Companies are divided into three divisions based on employee count to ensure balanced competition. Smaller companies that frequently do business together often join forces to form a combined team.
