GPD Investigation

GREENSBORO, NC (April 4, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a juvenile Friday night.

At approximately 7:09 p.m., officers attempted an investigative stop of a stolen vehicle parked at the Refuel in the 2400 block of East Market Street. The driver ignored officers' commands and as the vehicle began to speed away, officers observed a female fall out of the passenger side and onto the pavement.

Officers attempted to pursue the vehicle and located wreckage in the 1200 block of Huffine Mill Road. Officers found that the vehicle was involved in a single-car crash and the driver was ejected.

Officers called for EMS and began lifesaving measures at the scene.

The driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Per protocol, the Greensboro Police Department's Professional Standards Division will conduct an internal investigation to determine whether departmental policies were followed. Pursuant to departmental policy, the officers involved in this incident have been placed on administrative duty pending the investigation.
