The holiday season can be especially difficult for families who are grieving the loss of a pregnancy or infant. To offer comfort, connection and remembrance, Bronson Bereavement Services and Bronson's SHARE Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group invite the community to their annual Holiday Memorial Service on Friday, December 4, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The service will be held at the Gilmore Center for Health Education, located on the north campus of Bronson Methodist Hospital at 7 Healthcare Plaza in Kalamazoo.
Open to all who have experienced miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or infant loss, this meaningful evening provides a space to honor babies who will always be remembered and loved. Family members, friends and supporters are also welcome to attend.
The program will include candle lighting, music, poetry, personal reflections and a message of hope. Guests will also have the opportunity to place ornaments in remembrance of their babies, creating a heartfelt tribute during the holiday season.
"Grief doesn't pause during the holidays, and for many families, this time of year can bring a renewed sense of loss," said Deb Koning, Bronson bereavement coordinator. "Our Holiday Memorial Service offers a compassionate space to remember the babies who remain forever part of our lives, while finding comfort and support in community."
Following the service, attendees are invited to stay for refreshments and fellowship.
Whether you are remembering your own child, honoring the experience of a loved one or looking to support grieving families, all are welcome to join this special evening of remembrance.
Bronson's SHARE Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Group and the Holiday Memorial Service are made possible through the generous support of donors to the Bronson Health Foundation.
