Croft State Park opens TRACK Trail for kids and families

Spartanburg, S.C. - Today, South Carolina State Parks and Kids in Parks celebrated the grand opening of a new TRACK Trail at Croft State Park.
TRACK Trails are self-guided trails designed for kids and families. There are more than 380 TRACK Trails available throughout the country. Each trail has colorful, kid-friendly brochures that help turn an ordinary hike into a fun-filled, discovery-packed adventure.
Croft's TRACK Trail invites visitors to explore the park's rich history and lively ecology, with four hike themes to choose from: Tracks & Traces, Types of Trees, Nature's Relationships, and Camp Croft Recruits, highlighting the park's unique history as a WWII Army training camp. TRACK Trails are a free activity.
Kids who participate in the program can register their TRACK Trail adventures at KidsinParks.com to earn a series of prizes designed to make their next outdoor adventure even more fun and meaningful. Since the program's inception, kids have completed more than a million TRACK Trail adventures.
The Croft TRACK Trail was funded thanks to the generous support of the Friends of Croft State Park.
Located just a few miles from downtown Spartanburg, Croft State Park is a favorite for mountain bikers, hikers, and equestrians, offering visitors more than 7,000 acres to explore. With 50 campsites and mile after mile of trails, Croft State Park is full of rich history and fun activities for the whole family.
