ICE removes criminal illegal aliens to Honduras in partnership with Department of War

WASHINGTON - ICE, together with the Department of War and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, began removing criminal illegal aliens to Honduras using military aircraft June 4. Among the illegal aliens removed from the United States were criminal illegal aliens convicted of burglary, DUI, domestic violence and narcotics violations.

"This flight demonstrated how a whole-government approach strengthens immigration enforcement and maximizes taxpayer resources," said acting ICE Director David J. Venturella. "By partnering with the Department of War, ICE can expand removal operations, increase operational flexibility and ensure criminal illegal aliens are returned to their home countries more efficiently. These partnerships allow ICE to maintain a steady pace of removals that, every day, make America safe again."

Those removed from the U.S. on the first DOW flight include the following:

  • Santos Alberto Ramos Castillo, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of DUI, giving a false name to law enforcement, willful obstruction of law enforcement, domestic violence, assault and cruelty toward a child.
  • Oscar Alvarado Diaz, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of burglary and conspiracy to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance. Alvarado Diaz has been removed from the U.S. nine times.
  • Fredis David Chavez Mencia, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of transporting/selling narcotics.
  • Duglas Garcia-Rivera, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of DUI and evading arrest.
  • Melvin Martinez Izaguirre, a twice removed criminal illegal alien from Honduras with arrests for multiple DUIs, domestic violence, and assault.
  • Roje Oliva-Ortiz, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted twice of DUI.

ICE continues to work with its federal, state, local and international partners to identify, arrest and remove criminal illegal aliens who violate U.S. immigration laws. These coordinated efforts help protect public safety, uphold the rule of law and ensure the integrity of the nation's immigration system.
