Prime Minister Rama on a working visit to Italy and Spain - High-level meetings on the progress of cooperation projects with Italy and participation in the Summit for the Defense of Democracy in Spain

Prime Minister Edi Rama will undertake a working visit to Rome and Barcelona on April 16-18, within the framework of international engagements and the strengthening of cooperation with European partners.

During his stay in Italy, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, followed by a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto.

As part of the continuation of the visit, Prime Minister Rama will participate, at the invitation of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, in the proceedings of the fourth meeting of the Summit "In Defense of Democracy", held in Barcelona.

The work of the Summit will focus on key themes such as "Institutions and Multilateralism" and "Disinformation and Digital Technology", with particular attention given to the regulation of the digital environment to combat disinformation, the strengthening of democratic institutions and multilateralism, as well as addressing inequalities as a foundation for a strong democracy.

Within the framework of the Summit, Prime Minister Rama will also hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Sánchez and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
