Strava Overhauls Strength Experience with Expanded Partner Ecosystem, New Workout Log and Muscle Maps

SAN FRANCISCO - May 21, 2026 - Strava, the app for active people with more than 195 million users in more than 185 countries, today announced a full overhaul of its strength activity experience. The update introduces 14 partner integrations, a dedicated workout log, auto-populated muscle maps and five new shareables-giving athletes a more complete way to log, track, and share their lifts alongside the runs, rides, and other activities they already log on Strava. Overall health, longevity and injury prevention are among the primary motivators for the growth in strength activities, and Strava continues to reflect why and how people move in the product. The launch marks the first step in an expansive investment in the strength experience on Strava.

Connect Broadly

  • Partner Integrations: Strava is partnering with 14 partner integrations across the strength and fitness ecosystem and updating its developer tools, so athletes can bring comprehensive data from the apps and devices they already use directly into Strava. These integrations bring strength activity data to life on Strava for the first time, removing the friction from a previously manual process, while unlocking the dynamism of the Strava community. The initial launch partners are:

    • 24 Hour Fitness (coming this summer)

    • Amazfit

    • Caliber

    • COROS

    • Fitbod

    • Garmin

    • Hevy

    • iFIT Personal Trainer

    • JEFIT

    • Liftoff

    • Motra

    • REMAKER

    • Runna

    • WHOOP

Track Accurately

  • Auto-Populated Muscle Maps: Every logged workout now generates a visual muscle map, automatically highlighting the muscle groups trained based on the exercises performed.

  • Workout Log: Athletes can now dynamically record sets, reps, and weight in a purpose-built log designed for strength training. This functionality captures strength exercises over time, making it easy to review and repeat workouts.

Share Dynamically

  • New Shareables: Strava is rolling out five new strength-specific shareables, giving athletes more ways to celebrate their lifts and progress with friends, clubs, and the broader Strava community. The new formats are designed to translate the work happening in the gym or at home into the same kind of recognition Strava users have long received for activities recorded outdoors.

"Strength has been one of the fastest-growing sport types on Strava for some time, with over 500 million uploads in 2025 alone, and our community has been clear about what they need from us," said Matt Salazar, Chief Product Officer, Strava. "This overhaul brings the same depth, motivation, and shareability that Strava is known for to a myriad of strength activities. Whether someone is training for a race, lifting for general fitness, or building strength as their primary activity, they now have tools that meet them where they actually are, and this is only the beginning."

"As Strava continues to expand its strength experience, richer context is essential," said Ed Baker, Chief Product Officer at WHOOP. "By integrating WHOOP insights and broader health and performance signals into Strava, we are helping our members connect strength, endurance, and recovery so they can see the full picture of their performance more clearly than ever."

"More athletes are incorporating strength training into their overall fitness routines, and at Hevy we are focused on delivering the best possible strength training experience while making it effortless to log, track and share workouts. We are proud to partner with Strava to help elevate strength training and make humanity stronger, together," said Guillem Ros, CEO and co-founder of Hevy.

The new strength experience is rolling out globally to Strava users in the coming weeks. More information can be found here.
