RISKWORLD Community Takes Action to Support Philadelphia's Homeless

(NEW YORK) April 14, 2026 - To show its appreciation for the city that hosts RISKWORLD, RIMS, the risk management society® has selected Pathways to Housing PA as its 2026 RISKWORLD Community Service Project beneficiary. Pathways to Housing PA's mission is to empower unhoused people with disabilities to reclaim their lives by providing stable housing, supportive services, and a caring community.

The 2026 RISKWORLD Community Service Day Project, sponsored by ESIS®, A Chubb Company, will welcome RISKWORLD attendees to assemble hygiene kits for the locals who rely on Pathways to Housing PA's services. Hygiene kit assembly stations will be in the Pennsylvania Convention Center during RISKWORLD and all registered attendees are invited to participate.

In 2008, Pathways to Housing PA partnered with Philadelphia city officials to launch its first two teams to address chronic homelessness. Today the nonprofit houses more than 550 individuals in regular apartments throughout Philadelphia with a retention rate of 86% - an unprecedented success indicator. In addition to housing needs, Pathways opened the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, integrated care clinics, the Pathways Housing Wellness Corporation to rebuild abandoned lots and structures, the Good Haul junk hauling enterprise, as well as an Alumni Association that continues to provide support to those in need.

"We are incredibly grateful to RISKWORLD for choosing Pathways to Housing PA to be part of the conference's 2026 Community Service Project initiative," said Pathways to Housing PA's Vice President of Operations Valerie Johnson, MBA, CFRE. "Our program participants have experienced chronic homelessness for years, and in some cases decades. Providing the essential hygiene items they need to take care of themselves is something we're thrilled to be able to do with support from the risk management community."

"At ESIS, our purpose is rooted in supporting people - both through our professional services and by uplifting the communities where we live and work," said Brent MacLean, President of ESIS, Inc. "This marks our ninth consecutive year sponsoring a local charity at RISKWORLD, and we're honored to sponsor Pathway to Housing, an organization dedicated to empowering unhoused individuals with disabilities to reclaim their lives through stable housing, supportive services, and a caring community. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to making a meaningful impact, and we invite our colleagues and industry partners to join us in supporting this vital mission."

"Building safer, more resilient communities is core to risk management and it is only fitting that RISKWORLD offers this wonderful opportunity for attendees to demonstrate that commitment by giving back to Philadelphia's most vulnerable," said RIMS CEO Gary A. LaBranche, FASAE, CAE, AAiP. "Pathways to Housing PA does remarkable work providing critical support to those who need it most. RIMS is incredibly grateful to ESIS for sponsoring the RISKWORLD Community Service Project and allowing us to make a meaningful impact for our host community."

As one of the first entities to host a large convention in post-Katrina New Orleans, RIMS first Community Service Project was in 2007 to support local families in the area to rebuild infrastructure devastated by the natural disaster. Since then, each year, RIMS develops an engaging activity for RISKWORLD attendees that advances the mission of a local, community-based charity.

RIMS COMMITMENT TO CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AT RISKWORLD
RIMS continues to invest in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) endeavors and embedding them into the RISKWORLD experience. In addition to a badge recycling program, a reduction of printed materials, and a shift toward a digital-first experience with the RISKWORLD Mobile App, this year's event will feature the following CSR enhancements:

Splashes of Hope Project - A new activation has been added to RIMS HQ in the RISKWORLD Marketplace. Attendees are invited to help complete a mural that will be donated to the Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital located in Danville, PA. The mural will capture an interactive farm scene with the hopes of providing the hospital's tiny patients with some entertainment and distraction as they await treatment.

Support for Local Farmers - RIMS has embarked on a new RISKWORLD program that will facilitate the donation of large conference banners and signage to local farmers who will then transform them into protective tarps for equipment covers, field covers and other farming needs.

Recycling Program for Exhibitors - Exhibitors will have the opportunity to donate their leftover promotional materials through the Pennsylvania Convention Center's reuse and recycling program.

Offsetting the Carbon Footprint - RIMS is partnering with Sustainable Travel International, a verified carbon offset program, to raise awareness about the travel emissions.

Selecting an Eco-Friendly Center - The Pennsylvania Convention Center was the recipient of the Events Industry Council (EIC) Sustainable Event Standards gold certification for venues in 2023. It achieved LEED v4 certification in 2024 and uses 100% decomposable and biodegradable food and beverage products.

Food Donation - Aramark, the exclusive caterer at the Center, donates surplus food to the community by collaborating with organizations like the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, Valley Youth House's Achieving Independence Center, the Share Food Program's Philly Food Rescue, Sharing Excess, and Food Connect.
