Every year, the Delegation of the European Union to Canada runs flagship programmes that bring Canadian students face-to-face with EU policymaking. The topics aren't abstract: students debate Arctic security, defence procurement, digital strategic autonomy and critical raw materials, the same files shaping the EU-Canada Strategic Partnership.
That's by design. The people who understand the EU today are the diplomats, negotiators and policymakers who will manage this relationship tomorrow, and investing in that understanding early is one of the most durable forms of diplomacy.
