Husted described as the "face of data centers" in Ohio

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO - This week, Wood County Auditor candidate Mark Wongrowski and Ohioans facing skyrocketing electric bills rallied against Jon Husted for his record of bringing hundreds of data centers to Ohio while local communities were left with the bill.

Jon Husted blames Ohioans for data centers, telling listeners in a recent interview that "we are the problem." While Husted blames families and local communities, Ohio electric bills are now projected to be over $800 for the summer - a massive increase - and Meta is building a massive data center near Bowling Green.

"Jon Husted helped bring data centers to Ohio and has continued to vote for tech billionaires' interests - I'm one of the unfortunate people that is forced to have a data center being built in my backyard because of it," said Bowling Green resident Beth Cole. "It is incredibly disrespectful that Jon Husted has now decided to blame data center development on Ohioans by telling us to look in the mirror because we are the problem. I'm calling on all Ohioans to take action this November and vote out the people that have wronged us and our way of life."

"Senator Jon Husted spent years as our lieutenant governor rolling out the red carpet for data centers. Instead of taking responsibility, he told Ohioans, 'when we look in the mirror, we are the problem,'" said Wood County Auditor candidate Mark Wongrowski. "Senator Husted wants you to believe that your electricity bills are your fault. Let's elect leaders who will work for Wood County families and not the corporations cutting backroom deals."

"This data center is affecting all of us. Jon Husted has made a grave error on citizens' behalf, and I would implore everyone to look at your utility bills. Last July, my electric bill was $29. This year, it's $130. It's absolutely frightening, and we can do something about it. Let's remove Jon Husted from the authority that he has taken and given away cutting sweetheart deals for corporations," said Bowling Green resident Maria Simon.
