City of Tempe declares emergency due to stormdetail

Oct. 15, 2025

Tempe, AZ - This morning, Mayor Corey Woods signed an emergency declaration for the City of Tempe. Watch the video.

This declaration shows that we, as a city, recognize there is a large need in our community. This is the initial step in helping us obtain funding for our community.

We are currently conducting a damage assessment with city, county and state representatives. These assessments help identify uninsured and underinsured property losses, which is an important step toward opening up more support for affected residents. This is a requirement to potentially qualify for funding. If the City of Tempe qualifies, low-interest Small Business Administration loans could become available for residents and businesses to assist with what is not covered by insurance. If there is sufficient damage throughout the city, federal funding could be made available.

The information collected through these assessments will only be used to secure potential recovery resources for impacted communities. It will not be used for any other purpose. Those affected may also fill out the self-assessment form below.

City of Tempe staff continue to assist residents and businesses in every way possible. We are clearing rights of way, collecting trees and debris and ensuring the safety of the community.
