Get ready for a day packed with stories, creativity and fun! Coventry Libraries is bringing its FREE Big Book Bash to Coventry Transport Museum on Wednesday 28 October, from 10am to 3.30pm
This year is the National Year of Reading, which celebrates the joy of reading for people of all ages. Reading can take us on exciting adventures, help us learn new things, and spark our imaginations.
That's why Coventry Libraries is inviting families to come along and enjoy a fantastic day of free activities, all designed to inspire a love of books and storytelling.
There will be plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including:
Local author Aaron Ashmore will share what it's like to be an author, from coming up with exciting ideas and turning Coventry's history into stories, to writing, illustrating and publishing books.
Maria Motúnráyọ̀ Adébísí, a student at the University of Birmingham, will lead a fun and interactive Writers Workshop based on her novel. Children can also enjoy a special glow-in-the-dark experience inspired by African mythology.
Cllr Abdul Salam Khan, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Equalities, said: "Reading can open the door to amazing new worlds and adventures. The Big Book Bash is a wonderful opportunity for children and families to enjoy a fun day together, discover great books and take part in lots of exciting activities - all completely free of charge."
