TAHOE CITY, Calif. - Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) invites community members to attend a meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at North Tahoe High School. The meeting is an opportunity for community members to share their recreation priorities, questions, and considerations as TCPUD continues its Tahoe City Community Center Planning and Feasibility Study on the future of recreation facilities at the Tahoe City Community Center property.
The meeting follows a community survey that received nearly 1,200 responses, providing valuable feedback on community recreation needs, priorities, and potential facilities.
Community Meeting Details
• Date: Tuesday, October 27, 2026
• Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Location: North Tahoe High School, 2945 Polaris Road, Tahoe City, CA 96145
• RSVP: Encouraged, but not required
"We appreciate the nearly 1,200 community members who took the time to participate in the survey and share their perspectives," said TCPUD Board President Gail Scoville. "Now we want to hear directly from our community. This meeting is an opportunity for the Board to listen, better understand community priorities and concerns, and hear what people believe we should consider as we evaluate potential next steps."
The meeting will begin with a brief overview of the planning and feasibility study, including preliminary recreation facility concepts, community survey results, and key considerations for future decisions. Most of the meeting will be dedicated to hearing from community members, with opportunities to ask questions, share comments, and provide perspectives directly to the Board. Preliminary facility concepts will also be displayed for attendees to review.
The Tahoe City Community Center Planning and Feasibility Study is evaluating potential future uses and improvements at the existing Tahoe City Community Center property at 401 West Lake Boulevard. Concepts under consideration include an indoor gymnasium, indoor aquatics facility, or a combined indoor recreation facility.
No decisions have been made to advance a specific facility concept or pursue construction. Community input will help inform the Board's consideration of potential next steps, and TCPUD encourages participation from community members with a wide range of perspectives, including those who support a future recreation facility, those who have questions or concerns, and those who would like more information before forming an opinion.
Community members are encouraged to RSVP in advance to help TCPUD plan for attendance.
