Minister’s telephone conversation with his Kazakhstani counterpart, Yermek Kosherbayev (13 November 2025)
M. Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, spoke to his counterpart Mr Yermek Kosherbayev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, today.
During their conversation the two ministers reviewed the strengthening of our strategic partnership with Kazakhstan, building on President Tokayev's state visit to Paris in November 2024. The two ministers stressed the importance of our cooperation in the economic, energy, educational and cultural spheres, and on global issues. They signalled their support for the development of connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, particularly in the framework of the European Global Gateway strategy. Finally, in their conversation they discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
