First Deputy Foreign Minister S.Lukashevich meets ambassadors of several Asian and African countries

On April 8-9, 2026 the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, met with the Ambassadors of Somalia, Egypt and Bangladesh.

On April 8, 2026 the First Deputy Minister received copies of credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus concurrently, Mohamed Abukar Zubeyr.

The parties noted the need to intensify political dialogue, form a legal framework and create coordination mechanisms for cooperation, and develop trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation.

On April 9, 2026, the First Deputy Minister also received copies of credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus concurrently, Hamdi Shaaban.

The interlocutors discussed topical issues of bilateral political, trade and economic cooperation, including the schedule of bilateral events and preparations for the eighth meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian Joint Trade Commission.

On the same day, the First Deputy Minister was presented with copies of his credentials by Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus concurrently.

The parties confirmed the significant potential for the development of trade and industrial cooperation, welcomed the similarity of approaches and effective cooperation between the two countries in the international arena.
