Airports Council Joins Modern Skies Coalition in Urging Congress to Prevent Another Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Shutdown

WASHINGTON - Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, today signed onto a statement by the Modern Skies Coalition urging Congress to prevent a shutdown of the Federal Aviation Administration.

"Building from our recent statement of support1 for the FY26 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill, the Modern Skies Coalition urges support for passage of funding for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and its critical safety and modernization employees. Finalizing annual funding for the FAA will ensure these dedicated aviation professionals will not be subjected to another shutdown, while they are still recovering from the recent disruptive 43-day shutdown that exacerbated existing pressures on a system as highlighted once again by the NTSB's board meeting this week.

We also strongly support passage of the House's Aviation Funding Solvency Act (HR 6086) and the Senate's Aviation Funding Stability Act (S. 1045) that would ensure the FAA's employees are protected from any future shutdown and help keep our nation's aviation system running safely."
