    * The Old Town Farmer's Market will be open in Tavern Square, next to our building, until noon. Voter parking will be located along Cameron Street, though a curbside voter spot will still be reserved in front of our office on N Royal Street.

2. CHECK YOUR POLLING PLACE

If you vote on Election Day (February 10, 2026), you must do so at your designated polling place. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be sure to confirm the location and your registration at vote.elections.virginia.govbefore you go. You may also call the Office of Voter Registration & Elections at 703.746.4050 or view the City's current precinct map.

If your polling place is a school, schools will be in session on Election Day. There will be crowds and traffic during student drop-off and pick-up times. Please plan accordingly.

For February 10, 2026, note the following changes to polling places:

  • The City Hall Precinct will vote at Lyles Crouch School (530 S. Saint Asaph Street.) Follow the signs for Old Town South.

3. KNOW WHAT IS ON YOUR BALLOT

In Alexandria, the ballot will include a contest for State Senate District 39, and in parts of the City it will also include a contest for House of Delegates District 5. Review the ballot to help you make informed choices at the voting booth. Election officials are not permitted to provide information about candidates, so please conduct research to determine your choices before arriving at the polling place. Sample ballots are available on our website, alexandriava.gov/Elections.

4. BRING YOUR ID

Virginia voters will be asked to show identification (ID) prior to voting. Examples of acceptable ID include a Virginia driver's license, voter confirmation documents, United States passport, employee photo ID or student ID. Review the complete list of acceptable forms of identification at the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Voters who arrive at the polling place without an acceptable ID may sign an ID Confirmation Statement and vote using a regular ballot. Any voter who neither presents acceptable identification nor signs this statement must vote using a provisional ballot.

5. DON'T BE LATE

If you are planning to vote late in the day or after work, please remember that you must be in line at your polling place by 7 p.m. to vote.

6. SAME DAY REGISTRATION

If you missed the end of the normal registration period on February 3, 2026, same day registration is available to you. To register and vote on the same day, you must be in the correct locality and at the correct polling location. You will be issued a provisional ballot to cast your vote. If you have questions about the same -day registration process, please contact us at [email protected]or 703.746.4050.

7. IF YOU NEED HELP, PLEASE ASK

The Office of Voter Registration & Elections is committed to ensuring that every registered voter can vote. If you have any concerns about the voting process or about a voting site, please call 703.746.4050 or notify an Election Officer.

8. VIEW THE UNOFFICIAL RESULTS

After the polls close at 7 p.m. on Election Day, Alexandria election officials will begin posting unofficial results on the Virginia Department of Elections website.

During the weeks following the election, state and local Electoral Boards will canvass and certify the official results.
