Prime Minister Rumen Radev: Bulgaria to promote high value-add investment leading to industrial cooperation and technology transfer

The generation of better business and investment friendly conditions in Bulgaria is one of the government's top priorities. This was stated by Prime Minister Rumen Radev when he met the leadership of the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA). The meeting at the Government Headquarters was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers Alexander Poulev and Atanas Pekanov, Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov and Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova-Chamova and by Martin McDowell, Chargé d'Affaires a. i. at the Embassy of the United States in Bulgaria.

Prime Minister Rumen Radev emphasized Bulgaria's key role in European energy security and in connectivity in the region. Bulgaria's location and infrastructure are in the focus of a number of transport and energy corridors that are essentially important to boost European competitiveness. The Prime Minister specifically emphasized the strategic importance of Corridor 8, the benefits of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in Greece and Turkey for the energy diversification in the region and the potentials of the Trans-Balkan Gas Pipeline. Also, Rumen Radev distinguished the country's capacity to store electricity following the construction of new pumped storage hydro power plants (PSHPP).

Further, the Prime Minister emphasized the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States and expressed the country's interest to promote high value-add investment. Rumen Radev stressed that industrial cooperation and technology transfer are key elements in the modernization process of the Bulgarian Army.
