DNC Congratulates Democratic Nominee Roy Cooper on His Victory in the North Carolina Democratic Senate Primary Arrow

Tonight, the DNC congratulates North Carolina Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Roy Cooper for winning tonight's primary.

Across North Carolina, Democratic voters nominated candidates like Cooper who are focused on lowering costs, protecting health care, and standing up for working North Carolinians. With critical races up and down the ballot, the DNC will support the North Carolina Democratic Party, and our tremendous Democratic ticket led by Governor Cooper, as we prepare to win across the state.

In response to Governor Roy Cooper's victory in the North Carolina Democratic Senate Primary, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

Governor Cooper is a fighter who has always put working North Carolinians first. Throughout his time as Governor, Cooper showed time and time again that he shows up and delivers results for working families by creating high-paying jobs, expanding access to affordable health care, and working across the aisle and with business leaders to create an economic boom in the Tar Heel state. As a U.S. senator, Governor Cooper will wake up every morning and work to, as he puts it, 'make stuff cost less.' The DNC will be on offense, supporting him to ensure that North Carolinians have leaders who put them first."
