Alameda County - Caltrans, along with emergency services from the City of Oakland and the City of Alameda, will conduct a scheduled fire drill this Thursday night, August 27, inside the Webster Tube. During this exercise, the Webster Tube will be closed overnight while crews perform emergency response drills. Motorists may see emergency vehicles entering and exiting the tube from both the Alameda and Oakland sides. This activity is part of the planned exercise and not an actual emergency.
As part of the ongoing Oakland Alameda Access Project's weekly Webster Tube closures-scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM- Caltrans will dedicate one night to conduct this fire drill, after which the regular closure schedule will resume.
