Secretary-General of ASEAN delivers pre-recorded remarks at the PROPEL – ASEAN Digital Leadership Forum and the Official Launch of the ASEAN CXO Association

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered pre-recorded remarks at the PROPEL - ASEAN Digital Leadership Forum and the Official Launch of the ASEAN CXO Association on 7 July 2026 in Singapore. In his remarks, Dr. Kao highlighted several key priorities for advancing ASEAN's digital future, including the importance of fostering a trusted and secure digital ecosystem through strengthened cybersecurity cooperation and data governance, as well as mainstreaming decarbonisation into digital transformation efforts to support sustainable development. He also emphasised the need to enhance digital skills among the workforce, including Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, to strengthen resilience and competitiveness. In addition, he underscored the need to advance interoperable digital infrastructure across the region to deepen regional integration and unlock the full potential of ASEAN's digital economy.
