The Meeting of the SCO Business Council Board Opens in Bishkek

On June 24-25, 2026, a regular meeting of the Board of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was held in Bishkek. The event was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev, heads of the national parts of the Business Council, high-ranking officials from government bodies of Kyrgyzstan, representatives of diplomatic missions and business communities of the member states, as well as a delegation from the SCO Secretariat headed by Deputy Secretary-General Piao Yanfan.

In his welcoming address, Daniyar Amangeldiev highly commended the achievements of the SCO over the past 25 years and emphasized the Organisation's role as an important platform for deepening trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation. He presented information on the socio-economic development successes of Kyrgyzstan and the measures being taken to further enhance investment activity.

In her speech, Piao Yangfan noted the responsible and proactive approaches of the Kyrgyz side to the development of the SCO, as well as the shared commitment of member states to common prosperity. In this context, she underscored the role of the Business Council as a key platform for interaction between the business communities of the Organization's member states. The Deputy Secretary-General expressed her hope that entrepreneurs would continue to make a substantial contribution to achieving the goals set forth in the SCO Development Strategy until 2035.

During the meeting, the heads of the national parts of the Business Council considered issues related to stepping up trade, economic, and investment cooperation among the member states. Following the event, a Protocol was adopted.

The business program continued with the investment and business forum "Kyrgyzstan - the Heart of Eurasia," as well as the industrial and investment exhibition "SCO Expo." Participants took part in discussions were held on issues of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, green energy, technological sovereignty, and the expansion of investment cooperation. B2B meetings and presentations of the national investment priorities of the member states were also conducted.
