Ciscomani Applauds Full 12/12 Appropriations Passage, Advancing $42M in AZ-06 Investments

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani is applauding the passage of the Defense Appropriations bill, the 12/12 bill for FY27, out of the House Appropriations Committee, marking a major milestone in restoring fiscal discipline, transparency, and regular order in Congress.

Ciscomani emphasized that this package reflects a results-driven approach to governing, prioritizing national security, strengthening military readiness, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.

The House Appropriations Defense bill includes $43.4 billion for military health programs, reinforcing care for service members and their families while supporting key Arizona installations, including Fort Huachuca and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. The legislation also delivers a targeted military pay raise, including 7% for E-5 and below, 6% for E-6 through O-4, and 5% for O-4 and above. Across the broader package, $204.1 billion is dedicated to military personnel reinforcing readiness, recruitment, and retention across all 6 branches of the United States Armed Forces.

The strong bipartisan collaboration led by Chairman Tom Cole and all 12 subcommittee "cardinals" who worked under an aggressive timeline to move Congress away from wasteful, last-minute omnibus spending and back toward a more accountable budget process. Arizona's Sixth District remains at the center of these efforts.

U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani fought to secure over $42 million in Community Project Funding for 20 projects across all five counties, delivering targeted investments that strengthen public safety, modernize infrastructure, improve water systems, expand health care access, and support long-term economic growth.

Key wins for Arizona across the 12 Appropriations bills:

  • Strengthens border security and expands fentanyl interdiction to disrupt trafficking networks and protect Arizona communities.
  • Bolsters veteran suicide prevention programs and strengthens support systems for military families.
  • Works to modernize critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and air traffic control staffing.
  • Expands access to education through Head Start, increased Pell grant funding and other early learning programs.
  • Funds critical medical research, including cancer and Alzheimer's research.
  • Backs women's health care services and expands access to care across rural Arizona.

"As Arizona's sole appropriator in Congress, I am proud to help deliver all 12 Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills through the House Appropriations Committee, marking a major milestone in funding the federal government responsibly and on time," said Rep. Ciscomani. "I want to thank Chairman Tom Cole and all 12 subcommittee cardinals for their leadership in advancing these bills and keeping Congress on track. I take seriously my responsibility to protect taxpayer dollars, reduce wasteful spending, and ensure federal resources are directed toward priorities that deliver results for the American people. I am also proud to have secured 20 Community Project Funding requests for Arizona's Sixth District that will strengthen public safety, infrastructure, water resources, health care, education, and other critical priorities across Southern Arizona."

Stakeholders across Arizona's Sixth District praised Rep. Ciscomani's leadership in advancing all 12 appropriations bills, calling it a meaningful step forward for national and local targeted investment priorities.

"This is wonderful news. Juan has been a true friend to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center visiting our hospital many times always wanting to know how federal issues affect people. We appreciate him bringing tax dollars back home to Graham County to serve our patients. This new mammography machine uses the latest technologies to detect cancer at the earliest stages." - said MGRMC CEO, Dr. Bart Carter

"We are grateful for Congressman Ciscomani's continued advocacy on behalf of Oro Valley. "As one of Arizona's safest communities, maintaining reliable public safety communications is a top priority. The proposed $4.2 million in congressionally directed spending would fund the replacement of critical security and communications infrastructure at the new police headquarters, enhancing officer safety, strengthening emergency response capabilities, and ensuring our first responders have the tools they need to serve the community effectively." - said Mayor Joe Winfield

"The $1.6 million secured by Representative Juan Ciscomani for site selection, environmental review, and the initial design phase of a new air traffic control tower at Pinal Airpark represents a significant win for both the County and the State. The new tower will enhance aviation safety and operational efficiency, strengthen military readiness, and drive job creation and economic growth throughout the region. We are deeply grateful for Representative Ciscomani's leadership and support in advancing this critical project." - said Pinal County Board of Supervisor Chairman, Jeffrey McClure
