Statement from Julius Berger Nigeria PLC on Managing Director’s Arrest Warrant

In light of the arrest warrant issued in December 2024 for our Managing Director; Julius Berger Nigeria PLC wishes to clarify our position regarding this matter. The warrant was issued due to perceived ongoing noncompliance with invitations with the Senate Committee on Works, alongside concerns about the pace of work on the Odukpani - Itu Road in Cross Rivers.

We want to emphasize that there was never any intention to disregard these important meetings. The confusion was caused by a miscommunication during the transition between the outgoing and incoming Managing Directors, which unfortunately coincided with the timing of the invitations. We have since issued a formal apology to the Senate President, which has been graciously acknowledged, read into the record, and accepted by the Senate.

As a result, the arrest warrant has been rescinded, and all related matters have been amicably resolved. The Chairman of the Committee on Works remarked, "The Senate has sealed its relationship with Julius Berger, and I believe we are now on the same page. The reasons for the firm's previous inability to attend our invitations have been explained, and the matter is settled."
