Public Input Sought on Impact of New Housing Development

The City's Neighborhood Development Department is asking for public comment on an Environmental Review Record (ERR) for a new residential construction project and its subsequent request for federal funds for the project. Read the City's notice of intent for both issues.

Known as 14 Friends Place, the development involves rehabilitating 24 units of affordable housing to support persons living with HIV/AIDS at 817 Summit Ave. The City has determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment.

The City will then request the US Housing and Urban Development release about $3 million in federal funds for the project.

Deadline to submit comments on either issue is 5 pm on Thursday, August 27. Send comments by email or call 336-373-4636 and specify if your comments are about the ERR or the funding.
