A Spontaneous Sale for a Happy Tail – Orange County Animal Services Reduced Adoption Fees for Three Days

Orange County, Fla - Orange County Animal Services (OCAS), a division of Orange County Government, today announced it will reduce adoption fees for cats and dogs to $10 starting Wednesday, September 3, 2025, through Friday, September 5, 2025. The announcement comes after 148 animals arrived at the shelter over the holiday weekend.

"We have nearly 400 pets in our shelter and an additional 261 under our umbrella of care in foster homes throughout the Central Florida area," said Diane Summers, manager for Orange County Animal Services. "Each and every time we've reached out to our community for help, seeking adopters and additional foster homes, people have stepped up and we're hoping to see that again this time, we very much need support to help these precious pets."

All animals available for adoption are listed on the shelter's website. If a pet is listed as "ready to go home," that means the pet has already been spayed or neutered, received the proper vaccinations, and has been microchipped. If a pet is not listed as "ready to go home," the shelter clinic staff will ensure the proper medical procedures are done to get the pet home in a timely manner. These medical procedures are of no cost to new pet parents.

Residents can visit the shelter in person at the following times:
