Lakeshore slope restoration project resumes April 16 along M-25 in Sanilac County

SAGINAW, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is continuing work on a $7.3 million investment to stabilize the slope along M-25 along Lake Huron south of French Line Road in Sanilac County. Work originally started in 2025 and included slope restoration, drainage upgrades, guardrail work and pavement markings. Work will continue this spring to address necessary culvert improvements.

Two-way traffic will be maintained via a single-lane closure with temporary traffic signals.

Safety benefit:
This work to stabilize the slope from M-25 down to Lake Huron will restore the bank and prevent further erosion, prolonging the life of the roadway while preventing further loss of the shoulder and roadside into the lake.
