PASSED: Cortez Masto, Rosen Resolution Honoring the Paseo Verde Little League U.S. Championship

Washington, D.C. - The United States Senate unanimously passed a resolution led by U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) congratulating Henderson's Paseo Verde Little League team on their 2026 Little League World Series U.S. Championship victory.

"Throughout the Little League World Series, Paseo Verde players and coaches showed toughness, grit, and determination that made all Nevadans proud," said Senator Cortez Masto. "This team showed over and over again why they were the best in the United States, and we're proud to honor this accomplishment. Congratulations on a great run!"

"The Paseo Verde Little League team has made Nevada so incredibly proud, and we are thrilled to call them the 2026 U.S. Champions," said Senator Rosen. "As I watched the championship game, I saw how each player gave it their all. It was a thrilling game, and I loved cheering for Paseo Verde when they won! Congratulations, Paseo Verde, and thank you for bringing the national title to Nevada."

In the U.S. Little League Championship game on August 29, Paseo Verde defeated the team from Hamilton, Ohio to become the American champions. The team went on to play in the Little League World Series Championship against Curacao. This is the second year in a row that a team from Southern Nevada has won the Little League World Series U.S. Championship.

She introduced the WAGER Act to protect legal sportsbook and gaming businesses and urged FIFA to take steps to prevent human trafficking at the World Cup, making the event safer for all sports fans.
