Defence Minister Nikos Dendias visits Qatar

The Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendiasvisited Qatar today, Wednesday 1 April 2026.

At the beginning of his visit to Doha, Mr. Dendias was received by the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in Lusail Palace.

During the meeting, the regional developments and their impact on regional and international security and stability were reviewed, along with the ongoing efforts to contain tensions, de-escalate, and promote diplomatic solutions.

The bilateral relations between Qatar and Greece were also discussed, as well as ways to further enhance them, particularly in the fields of military and security cooperation, in a manner that strengthens joint coordination between the two friendly countries.

After the Emir of Qatar, the Greek Minister was also received by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, with whom he discussed the current developments in the broader region.

Later, Mr. Dendias met in Doha with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs in Qatar Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
At their meeting, views were exchanged on the current developments and their impact on the broader region, and the bilateral defence relations between the two countries were also discussed. Finally, Mr. Dendias invited the Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to visit Greece, and he accepted the invitation.
