Spajić to our most successful football generation: You earned your place among the European elite on the pitch, may the Government and Parliament match your success and lead Montenegro into the EU
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić hosted men's U17 national football team, which achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for both the European and World Championships.
Prime Minister Spajić told the young athletes that they should celebrate small daily victories and build confidence, as this is the key to success both on the pitch and in life.
Your winning aura has filled the Government offices today, and I hope it gives us extra energy to replicate your success. You earned your place among the European elite on the pitch, and I believe the Government and Parliament will match your success and lead Montenegro into the European Union, the Prime Minister emphasized.
You have shown quality, but this is just the beginning of your journey. With the dedication you've displayed wearing the national jersey, we have no reason to worry about the future of Montenegrin football, he added.
President of the Football Association Dejan Savićević expressed gratitude for the reception, noting that such support is immensely valuable to young athletes.
Mr. Prime Minister, thank you for this show of support. We noticed that you consistently follow the achievements of our athletes, as you have hosted many in the past who achieved notable results. This generation has made the greatest success in Montenegrin football history. They qualified for both the European and World Championships, surpassing the previous generation, from which we already have players like Adžić, Bulatović, Perović, and Kostić in the senior team, as well as many other talented players. Ahead of them lies a lot of work, effort, and dedication to reach the heights they deserve, Savićević said.
The team captain Lazar Popović presented the Prime Minister with a jersey signed by all players who qualified for the European and World Championships. Coach Radovan Kavaja gifted a ball signed by the players, and President of the Football Association Savićević presented a jersey bearing the number 28.
