As part of its participation in the second International Migration Review Forum-held from May 5 to 8, 2026-the Kingdom showcased its achievements and best practices in this field, which are grounded in a proactive and voluntary approach, centered on the effective realization of the commitments undertaken under the Marrakech Compact on Migration.
In this spirit, Morocco voluntarily submitted publications detailing its track record-articulated through strategies, public policies, and operational programs-all aligned with the 23 objectives of the Compact.
These initiatives span various domains, notably the humanization of border management, migrants' access to health and education services, as well as their socio-economic integration and access to employment.
This proactive approach aligns directly with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as set forth in the Royal Message delivered to the Intergovernmental Conference in Marrakech for the adoption of the Global Compact for Migration in December 2018-a message in which the Sovereign emphasized that "The Global Compact is not an end in itself. It will be meaningful only if it is effectively implemented."
In response to this concrete approach, the IOM has identified over one hundred best practices developed by Morocco. The Kingdom was thus encouraged to share its experience within the framework of this Forum, thereby consolidating its role as a committed actor and a source of proposals regarding the international governance of migration.
