The City of Greensboro will activate an Orange Flag overnight cooling center on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, in response to anticipated hot weather this weekend.
Operated by Greensboro Community Safety Department staff, the Orange Flag cooling center will be open 7 pm to 7 am at the Interactive Resource Center, 407 E. Washington St., on the aforementioned days.
The City activates an Orange Flag on days when the forecasted daytime temperatures reach 90 degrees or higher, and overnight temperatures do not fall below 70 degrees.
Please note the daytime cooling stations operate independently of the Orange Flag status during the summer. For more information on the locations of daytime cooling stations in Greensboro, visit www.Greensboro-nc.gov/CoolingCenters.
