National Assisted Living Week is also a time to recognize the caregivers who help residents feel supported. Their dedication and compassion help create a welcoming environment where meaningful relationships can flourish.

Bringing the safari to Brookside Manor

The weeklong celebration transformed the community into a jungle-inspired destination where residents could try new activities, share experiences and make lasting memories.

From safari hat decorating and wildlife-themed crafts to flamingo bean bag toss, monkey cornhole and gator golf, each day featured activities designed to encourage participation and connection. Residents also enjoyed themed treats, animal trivia and favorite movies.

A highlight of the celebration was a safari-themed party that transformed the space into a colorful adventure. Decorations generously donated from local vacation Bible school programs helped create an engaging environment while showcasing the power of community partnership.

The celebration served as a reminder that moments of joy, connection and shared experiences are essential to healthy aging and vibrant community life.
