Dog lovers celebrate man’s best…

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Dog lovers and their well-mannered, leashed pups are invited to come out and play at Woofstock, Saturday, Nov. 15 at Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Road. This free event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At Woofstock, your dog can lead you to the pet-related vendors and participate in a variety of fun to celebrate our four-legged friends. Activities include:

• Pet Adoptions from local non-profit agencies, including Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, to help you find your new best friend
• Free treats at Barkista's Mutt-Chiato Bar, while supplies last
• Face painting
• Interactive Agility Course by Desert Paws Agility
• Demonstrations at various times throughout the day by Dog Training Elite and the Chandler Police K9 Unit
• Flyball Tournament for viewing hosted by AZ Supercharged Flyball Team
• Pet Caricature Drawings & Portraits created by local artists
• Pet Psychic Readings as told by Carol Hensell
• Puparazzi Photo Contest Voting - cast your vote for Chandler's most adorable pups

If your pampered pooch is the best in show, be sure to enter the Puparazzi Photo Contest. Entries will be accepted through Nov. 2 or until 100 eligible photos are received. Finalists' photos will be displayed at Woofstock, where attendees can vote for the Pet Lovers Choice Award. The cutest pup will win a paw-some gift basket valued at $75. The contest is open to residents and non-residents of Chandler.

In addition to the dog-centric fun, pets and people alike can enjoy a variety of food and beverages throughout the event. There are no ATMs on site; some vendors may accept credit cards.
