Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met today with Belizean Prime Minister John Briceño in Washington, D.C. They expressed mutual appreciation for the wide-ranging bilateral cooperation on key issues that advance both countries' national security and economic interests. In particular, Deputy Secretary Landau and Prime Minister Briceño discussed opportunities to advance our partnership through the Millenium Challenge Corporation compact, promoting security cooperation against narco-trafficking, countering illegal immigration, and strengthening trade and commercial ties.
