CHESTER, NY - Congressman Pat Ryan is escalating his push and rallying the Hudson Valley community to stop the opening of a proposed ICE facility in Orange County. Ryan is encouraging the Hudson Valley community to show up in force and sign on to the effort to stop the proposed Chester facility. Ryan will submit anonymized results to DHS as public commentbefore their January 16th deadline.

The proposed facility would use a vacant warehouse in Chester, NY as part of a larger Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plan to house 80,000 migrants in warehouses nationwide. Ryan and bipartisan local leaders, receiving no warning or information from the Administration, immediately sounded the alarm.

"In just two days, thousands of members of our community have shown up in force with a clear message for this Administration - and we're just getting started," said Congressman Pat Ryan. "We're seeing law-abiding members of our community snatched off the streets with no due process, and whether that's at facilities in NY or across the country, we cannot accept it.. So I'm asking every member of our community to show DHS and Kristi Noem what we're made of - it's time to get loud as we stand together on the side of justice, accountability, and humanity."

Community members are encouraged to sign this petitionin opposition to the proposed facility.
