Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) yesterday supported a resolution honoring police officers and law enforcement personnel and reaffirming the importance of ensuring they have the resources needed to keep our communities safe.
"Law enforcement officers put themselves in harm's way every day to protect our communities and keep Virginia's families safe," said Vindman. "This National Police Week, I'm proud to honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who continue to serve our neighborhoods with professionalism and dedication, and to remember the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty."
The resolution recognizes the courage and dedication of law enforcement officers across the country and expresses gratitude and condolences to the families and loved ones of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It also highlights the need to strengthen partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve to help keep neighborhoods safe.

BACKGROUND
Vindman has been a champion for law enforcement across Virginia and the United States. In 2026, Vindman secured more than $2,750,000 for law enforcement and public safety projects in Virginia's Seventh District as part of a U.S. House-passed Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations bill.
Since coming to Congress, Vindman has led key congressional efforts - like the Nitazene Control Act, the Targeting Online Sales of Fentanyl Act, and the Enhancing Southbound Inspections to Combat Cartels Act - to give law enforcement the tools they need to tackle the fentanyl and nitazene crises.
Vindman has cosponsored the Providing Child Care for Police Officers Act, the Officer John Barnes and Chief Michael Ansbro Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program Expansion Act, and the COPS Reauthorization Act.
