City Council Looks Ahead Toward 2026 at Annual Retreat

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Palo Alto City Council convened for their annual retreat to discuss priorities for the year ahead including how to help focus their work and align staff efforts advancing shared community goals. Councilmembers reviewed and received community feedback, selected 2026 priorities, reinforced and discussed revisions to their Council Values to uplift and enhance their decision-making, and provided feedback to staff on a set of 67 proposed objectives to advance workplan priorities for the year ahead. A new update shares key outcomes from Council's retreat, what's planned, and a look back at progress in 2025.
